Pastor's Message

  Dear Friend in Faith,

Most of us have lots of stuff. In fact, most of us have to work hard to de-clutter our lives, our homes, and our vehicles to get rid of the things that no longer make sense to keep around.

It's fascinating to me how we get attached to our things. Maybe it's for sentimental reasons. Maybe it's because we're afraid to let go. My father used to hang on to books and magazine articles, always telling my mother, "I might use this some day in a sermon..." I've learned that my wife and my children won't accept that response from me, so I have to be more diligent or organized about where I store or hide my stuff...

Interfaith Series: Death and Dying
Everyone is invited to the Salaam-Chai-Paradise trifaith seminar on Jewish, Christian and Muslim views about Death and Dying: “The End of Life Here… and the Life Herafter (?)” next week. Join us in the Fellowship Center on Thursday, March 2, when Pastor Kelly Bender, Imam Sabahudin Ceman and Rabbi Bonnie Koppell lead the last of three discussions on this topic. Come at 6:30 pm for registration and refreshments. The program, "After Life (?)"  begins at 7 pm.

Pathways Spring 2017 Semester: Strength in International Missions
The Pathways Spring 2017 guidebook includes several paths you can take on your spiritual journey of the heart, mind, soul and strength. As two mission teams get ready to go to Costa Rica and Guatemala, listed under the Strength Pathway, we invite you to support them as Stakeholders. A gift of $25 or more helps pay for in-country supplies such as constructon materials and VBC curriculum. Please show your support by February 28. The Costa Rica team continues its partnership with the Methodist Orphanage of Costa Rica, Hogar Metodista and the Guatemala team will lead a medical team to provide medical services to people in rural areas. Both teams will hold Vacation Bible Camp programs. The Guatemala Team is also collecting prescription eyeglasses for the eye clinic. Donate your glasses in the labeled box in the church office.
