Paradise Valley United Methodist Church
Name Tag Sunday
On the first Sunday of the month, we invite you to wear a name tag and write the name of a small group you're a part of OR a group you're thinking about joining. Or just your name. No pressure, and only at the 9:30 am service. Look for members of the Learning and Living Ministry Team on the patio this week.
Pastor's Message

  Dear Friend in Faith,

I was recently visiting with some good friends over the holidays. Their child, Jonathan, at barely over one year old, had just learned how to walk. I’d known Jonathan since he was three weeks old, and it was a wondrous thing to watch as this tiny human – once incapable of lifting his head up on his own – scurry around the room, terrifying the pet cats. By simply learning to stand upright and put one foot in front of the other, a whole new world had opened up to him. The entire game had changed. Things would never be the same – for him or his parents.

As an adult, I don’t remember my own first steps. I do, however, remember the times in my life when in one moment, everything changed. The day I made my profession of faith in front of my entire church family. The evening that I got married. The afternoon when we packed up a trailer and moved from Iowa to Arizona. Like a toddler learning to walk,...

Paradise Perk and Serendipities
Our on-site coffee shop, the Paradise Perk, is open nearly every Sunday morning, 9 am-1 pm. A 16-oz cup of fresh-brewed coffee from the self-serve cart only costs $2, and specialty drinks just a bit more. The Perk also offers a wide variety of espresso drinks, smoothies, teas, and soda. All proceeds support youth missions and make the life-changing trips we offer affordable for our church families and students. In 2018, the senior high youth go on a mission trip to Houston, to help clean up after Hurricane Harvey. Ask Christopher Wurpts about how you can be a part of it even if you aren't a member of the youth group.

The church gift shop, Serendipities, is also open Sunday mornings, 9-11 am, and on Wednesdays, 9 am-12 noon. Purchases support local missions.

NOTE: Childcare is availa ble with a 48-hour reservation for all our
events and classes on campus. Call 602.840.8360, ext 134.
