Paradise Valley United Methodist Church
Youth Mission Team Receives Blessing
This Sunday, Youth Director and aspiring pastor Christopher Wurpts preaches in worship at all three services. At 9:30 am, we'll also bless the Sr High Youth Mission Team before they leave for San Francisco later in the week, and we'll bless volunteers and participants who will be here all week for VBC. Keep praying for our church, and especially the children and youth.

Pastor's Message

  Dear Friend in Faith,

This Sunday, we continue our worship series called, “The Outsiders.” Over the last two weeks, we’ve talked about how our church can do a better job of embracing those who are on the margins of society, first looking at people from different faith traditions and others who are outside our circle of friends, and then, last week, those in our communities who live with some sort of disability.

This week, we’ll be tackling one of the unspoken stigmas within our society: mental illness. The statistics on mental illness are startling. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) reports that nearly 1 in 5 people in the United States experiences some sort of mental illness in a given year (that’s over 43 million people!). The report continues...

Join Us for Better Together Sunday, July 30
Once every year, we get together to talk about what keeps us up at night. By sharing our troubles and concerns, we can offer each other support and maybe even come up with some solutions so we get a better night's sleep. On this special Sunday, we'll divide up into small groups so we can talk informally about the question, "What keeps you up at night?" The Church and Society Ministry Team hosts this event, and volunteers are needed to help moderate the groups. If you're interested in getting involved, contact Dave Ryan or Dan Sagramoso Read More

Worship and Fellowship at PVUMC
Paradise Valley United Methodist Church (PVUMC) has 3 services on Sunday. Dowload bulletins for 8 and 9:30:

11 am Ignite worship is bulletin-free. All services include the  Looking Ahead. This month, we feature a printed calendar for our "Six Weeks of Summer" Looking Ahead. Visit the website  calendar and news blog to read announcements online.

During July, we continue to lift up prayers for each other but we do not print the Prayers of Intercession in the Looking Ahead. Unless otherwise requested, prayer requests are e-mailed to the 200+ Prayer Team members and shared with pastors and staff. Prayer team members meet on Wednesdays to pray and send cards to those being prayed for that week.  Submit a prayer request using our online request form or by call the church office at 602.840.8360. Prayer request cards are also in the pew pockets.

Each card in the 52-card "Prayer Deck" features a photo of a student or youth worker for whom you can pray. $25/deck.
