Paradise Valley United Methodist Church
Charge Conference Sunday at 12:15 pm
Last week, clergy were at Annual Conference, and this Sunday, we gather as a church for our own annual meeting or Charge Conference, led by District Superintendent Susan Brims . We'll review and approve the budget, and nominate new ministry team members.
Pastor's Message

  Dear Friend in Faith,

We’ve all seen advice on time management. I’ve taken a few seminars and classes, looking for more helpful techniques to manage time as best I can. In our ever-faster world, we look for ways to save and carve out time for ourselves and the things most precious to us. I think back over the years and all the promises we heard on the labor saving devices and technology destined to save us time and effort. Yet it’s clear the pace of life has not diminished one bit, but grown even more frantic. You recall the rather timeless passage from Ecclesiastes, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted…a time to break down, and a time to build up…” We’re reminded that life always has its seasons and all of them, good or bad, are under God’s care. Whatever season you find yourself in ...

We Welcome Children at PVUMC - See the New Pew Pocket Cards!
Next Sunday is a Family Sunday, when you're invited to worship as a family in lieu of classes. We have new "Kids are Welcome" cards in the pew pockets to encourage parents and to help children better experience worship. This Sunday, we do offer Sunday Summer Camp classes for our elementary as well as Preschool kids. If you would like to volunteer as a summer camp teacher, please email Rev. Brenda Smith. Just once or twice a month will help a lot, and you'll be working with others as a team.

Peace with Justice Sunday
Once a year, the church has a special offering in support of Church and Society efforts via Valley Interfaith Project. This year, PVUMC has designated Sunday, June 25 as Peace with Justice Sunday. Your special offering will support VIP, a broad-based, nonpartisan group of dues-paying member congregations, schools, unions and nonprofits committed to building power for sustainable social and economic change. PVUMC is a member of VIP. We give so all God's children have access to homes, jobs, food, clean water, health care, education and more.
Tell Pastor Dave What You'd Like to Hear from the Pulpit
Paradise Valley United Methodist Church recently emailed a survey on behalf of Senior Pastor Dave Summers to solicit input from our members and constituents on upcoming sermon topics. The last time we surveyed our membership was June 2014. Pastor Dave hopes you will help provide direction on the kinds of messages he and the rest of the clergy will preach from the pulpit this fall and beyond. What keeps you rooted in the Word? How do you grow in your relationship with God and with others in our faith community and beyond? The survey has been extended through June 25. Please participate if you can.

Thank you for subscribing. Update your profile/ email preferences below.
