Paradise Valley United Methodist Church
Thank You Teachers and Volunteers
Sunday, we say thank you to our teachers and volunteers — who are God’s love in action. We extend our gratitude for all the ways you serve, from teaching, filling pew pockets, painting, stuffing bulletins, and so much more — at the church and in the community. We are the body of Christ, and we couldn’t fulfill our mission to ignite faith, transform lives or create community without you and your talents. Thank you!
Pastor's Message

  Dear Friend in Faith,

This Sunday, as we gather at the Lord’s Table, we will consecrate the bread and the cup as we prepare for communion. The bread will come from grain that was grown, tended, harvested, prepared and baked to become one loaf. The cup will contain the juice of many grapes, gathered together, pressed and squeezed into the unfermented juice that represents the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are similar.

We come, each of us, bearing the distinctive imprint of God within us, our own unique mix of DNA, life’s experience, talents, abilities and spiritual gifts. Our perspectives may vary, our backgrounds are diverse, but we will pray over the bread and cup saying to God, "by your Spirit, make us one with Christ, one with each other, one in ministry to all the world."

Judicial Council Finds Bishop Oliveto in Good Standing
The Religion News Service reported that "the 6-3 decision announced [last] Friday [April 28] found that while the consecration of an openly gay bishop violates church law, Oliveto’s consecration is not in question. She remains a bishop ‘in good standing’ until an administrative or judicial process is finished." Read More*
