Prospect Place - affordable housing lottery


Prospect Place is a newly renovated apartment community offering 60 affordable homes close to shopping, schools, and public transportation. The development features a mix of studio, one, two, and three bedroom apartments designed for individuals, families, and residents with a range of accessibility needs. Information session on July 30th. Lottery applications are due on August 31st!

New Campus Pantry will open on September 6th


Amherst Survival Center is deepening their relationship with the UMass Amherst to help combat food insecurity on campus. The Campus Pantry is located at 472 N. Pleasant Street – for those of you familiar with the UMass campus, that’s the old Newman Center. The Campus Pantry will be accessible for all UMass community members – students, employees and their families - providing provide fresh produce, milk, cheese, snacks, grains, and more!

Help steer the future of public transit


The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission is seeking public input on a plan that helps communities apply for Council on Aging van ride programs, and town shuttle programs as well as ADA Paratransit vehicle purchases for the communities and PVTA. The state administers this federally funded program. One part of the plan is to identify existing services, while another part is to identify gaps that can be filled by these programs. Please comment by mid-August!
