Presented by:

·        Tara Schwerdt – School Counseling Coordinator, Shasta County Office of Education

·        Jamie Spielmann – Director of Planning & Development, North State Together

·        Heather Van Slyke – School Counselor, Shasta High School

Description:

Many of our seniors sincerely plan to enroll in college but don't actually arrive on campus in the fall. One contributing factor is the sheer number of admission, enrollment, and orientation-related tasks they must complete during the spring and summer of their senior year. Join us to explore how one county's school counselors banded together with their local colleges to share these tasks in an effort to develop an added safety net for seniors. Through a "data-sharing MOU," colleges were able to share the status of each student's completion of these tasks with their high school counselors, who were then able to follow up. The county has seen great enrollment rate success as a result. Join us to learn more and walk away with strategies YOU can implement too!

Webinar objectives:

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to…

·        Leverage one evidence-based approach that results in huge payoffs in college enrollment rates

·        Investigate how one county's data-sharing strategy with local colleges supported seniors in successfully completing key enrollment tasks

·        Customize your own data sharing MOUs and prepare a list of possible organizations you would like to partner with for data sharing MOUs

·        Investigate ideas and current uses for data driven tier 2 supports

The Generational Shift with Dr. Katherine Jeffrey

The Generational Shift with Dr. Katherine Jeffrey - Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Cascade Theatre, Redding, CA.

Becoming a learning organization and building a culture where people feel safety, belonging, commitment to the vision, and a spirit of collaboration is essential to long-term success in today’s world. With 5 generations present in the workforce and the huge tensions that exist across these generations, developing culturally intelligent leaders who are adept at bringing out the best in their generationally diverse teams can be a challenge, but once accomplished, it will reduce this tension and allow for a more psychologically safe workplace. Regardless of the workplace sector you find yourself in, the rapid change of today’s world has left all of us needing to understand our intergenerational teams in a more comprehensive and empathetic manner. One thing we can be sure of is that all employees desire to work under managers who create a safe space for them to flourish. Are you able to ensure this for your employees on multi-generational teams? You are not alone if you are wondering how to decrease the tension across the generations and desire to build a culture where every generation can thrive.
