From Struggle to Stability

WINGS Ministries exists to offer marginalized women HOPE for a transformed life by equipping them with employment-readiness, life skills, and a clear understanding of their true identity in Christ.

As the year has continued to gain momentum, we wanted to pause and share some of the impact made during the first quarter of 2026.

Read on to see how WINGS is working and watching lives go from struggle to stability!

Ashley's Story

Ashley ~ WINGS Program Graduate & Scholarship Recipient,

Santa Maria Hostel Alumna

"I had a single parent household and often moved around a lot. As of recently, I've inserted myself into programming to better my life including church, therapy, and other state funded programs for women with substance abuse. One thing I've always taken pride in, and taken very serious, is my education and plan to pursue and finish it. Neither of my parents pursued higher education until later in life. I am determined to break the cycle.

WINGS has helped me develop life skills to take care of and support myself in this world through budgeting, faith-based sessions, community resourcing, and even job-ready skills [I can] implement. I also feel closer to God and can recite scripture.

I will continue to do everything in my power to become a better person of myself, sober, and connected to God. Every day is day one to find and take advantage of new opportunities in life. An attitude of gratitude is what I adopted the most among other things from the WINGS program. With the assistance of WINGS, I can become a productive successful member of society which I aspire to be through education, service, and promotion of health and relationships with God."

What's New at WINGS

WINGS ADDS A NEW SERVICE LOCATION:

Because of passionate volunteers like Jill Boldt and so many others, WINGS was able to expand its reach into a new location in March!

4ever 4given is a 12-month program located in the Tomball, TX area that is focused on housing women who are working through trauma, abuse, addication, and brokenness. 4ever 4given offers discipleship, career-readiness, and hope for an independent and healthy life of freedom. WINGS is honored to be part of these women's journey by bringing our faith-based work-reading and life skills training program to the 4ever 4given family.

EVENT NEWS

It was a perfect day to honor overcomers at

WINGS' "In Her Shoes" 5K 2026!

Our community came together on Saturday, March 21st, at Burroughs Park in Tomball, TX to walk or run on behalf of women who have overcome big challenges in life, including the women we work with at WINGS. The energy, support, and smiles were as beautiful as the weather!

Thank you to our amazing event volunteers, participants, and sponsors!

WINGS VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT!

Meet Rechanne

WINGS' Social Media Team Lead

We asked Rechanne to share her "why" about volunteering with WINGS. She wrote:

"'For I know the plans I have for you' is the beginning of one of my favorite Bible verses, Jeremiah 29:11. Little did I know that the verse would spark the beginnings of a worthwhile volunteering adventure. While going through a difficult season of my own, the reminders from my upbringing encouraged me that the best way to overcome a situation is sometimes to step back and help another in need. Seeing the testimonies of the women who WINGS serves and learning more about the wonderful women who volunteered, I knew WINGS aligned with my own mission to give back to my community. When I saw one of WINGS go-to verses was Jeremiah 29:11, I knew this was the perfect opportunity for me. I am honored to grow alongside WINGS Ministries and find my own wings once more as I aid their worthwhile mission to serve women and girls in overcoming difficult seasons and knowing the plans God has in store for them."

- Rechanne

We are so grateful for Rechanne and so many others that have taken the mission of WINGS into their heart, and then shared it in classrooms, living rooms, meeting rooms, and on social media.

There's always room for more. If you would like to serve women who are doing the hard work to overcome challenges such as incarceration, re-entry, homelessness, trafficking, or getting free from addiction, please reach out to us. We would love to talk with you!

Curriculum Improvements

WINGS is so grateful to our in-house curriculum team, as well as the insight from TJ Harris of New Horizons Employment Solutions, for helping to revise and improve our training program curriculum.

TJ brings years of experience in the area of curriculum development, while working hard to employ the same groups of individuals that WINGS works with, all to provide them with hope for a stable future.

The revision process is detailed and timely, but worth the work to be able to offer our best to all of our participants. We hope to have all modules revised by Fall 2026!
