I must admit, until I read his biography, I had never heard of Christian Brothers College. My first guess was this had to be a liberal arts college nestled neatly away somewhere in Pennsylvania. Then I read how he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering! Off to Google my fingers ran and found the school, which is actually located in Memphis, Tennessee. Interesting. So, how did a guy from a small school in Memphis find his way to Delaware?

After an abbreviated holiday week for economic news, we get things rolling today with October figures for pending home sales. On Tuesday we’ll learn of construction spending rates for October as well as an early peek at November auto sales. The ADP employment report for November is out on Wednesday. On Thursday, we’ll see initial jobless claims through November 28, and continuing jobless claims from November 21. We close the week on Friday with the all-important November unemployment rate, hourly earnings report from November, and factory orders and trade deficit numbers for October.
