Humanity First Disaster Relief team

responds to Texas Hill Country Flooding

Kerrville, TX

You have seen the news - devastating floods swept away loved ones, homes, and livestock.

Humanity First USA has joined response efforts centered at the VFW post 1480.

Our team delivered thousands of water bottles to the post and to local organizations like the Marantha Christian Center.

We are bringing tools, equipment, and emergency supplies. The response and recovery process will be long, as hundreds of families still wait to find family members or clean up their communities to start again.

Thank you to ABC - KSAT news for spotlighting Humanity First USA.

The Education Project improves student learning in Toledo

For the second year in a row, The Education Project has received a City of Toledo Youth Programming Grant to lead a local summer tutoring program.

Students from the Humanity First Student Organizations of the University of Toledo and the University of Toledo College of Medicine (UTCOM) are igniting young minds at Keyser Elementary School. Over 50 students are receiving personalized academic support in small groups using digital learning tools, while exploring their futures through engaging college and career readiness workshops.

After completing their sessions, students are served warm, nutritious meals, thanks to partner Connecting Kids to Meals. This initiative is also powered by strong community partnerships with the City of Toledo, Toledo Public Schools, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of NW Ohio.

Young students gather around a white board with the letters of the alphabet and number 1-50 written on it. A post-secondary student standing with them gestures to the board.

In the first college & career readiness session, students heard from Faith Zhang and Musa Lughmani, medical students at UTCOM, who shared their journeys into medicine and the motivations behind their calling. They were joined in a separate session by Nabeel Lughmani, CEO of Point Apogee, who discussed his path from electrical engineering to telecommunications leadership.

Both sessions encouraged students to reflect on their passions, recognize their potential, and begin taking steps now toward their future goals.
