Wednesday, May 31st at 6:00pm in the South Field
The 2023 Honors Convocation is an important event that celebrates the academic achievements of our graduating students. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 31st at 6:00pm in the South Field, rain or shine. We cordially invite you to attend the ceremony and join us in recognizing our students' hard work and dedication.

As their instructors, advisors, and mentors, your presence at the ceremony is highly encouraged and appreciated. Your guidance and support have played a significant role in the success of our honors students, and we believe that you deserve to share in their accomplishments. Additionally, the students would be delighted to have the opportunity to take a selfie with you or give you a high-five as they pass by.

To ensure that you have enough time to find a seat and cheer on our students, please plan to arrive at the South Field, Faculty seating area, no later than 5:30 pm. During the ceremony, you will have the chance to hear from Administration, the Adjunct of the Year, SGA President, and keynote student speaker.

We are thrilled to celebrate this momentous occasion with our students and you, and we look forward to seeing you there!

The BRESI Campus Climate Grant supports activities and projects that address aspects of prejudice, reduce discriminatory practices, and contribute to safer and more equitable climates for students, staff, and faculty at CUNY colleges. Successful proposals will be grounded in the work of Black, Race, and Ethnic Studies. These projects should enable members of racially subordinated groups to feel a greater sense of belonging and that their lived experiences are valued, specify the form of racism/ethnocentrism addressed, and demonstrate a clear articulation of how a given project will contribute to improving campus climate around issues of race and ethnicity as well as how it connects to a broader vision of social transformation
Workshop 5/25 @12pm
Principle to Practice: Culturally Responsive Teaching as an HSI

Faculty are invited to participate in this 2 hour zoom workshop modeled on work by ESCALA Educational Services (ESCALA 2022). ESCALA works specifically with Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) to close the gap in educational access and completion rates for Latinos.

Given that research shows cultural differences can be used as a resource in teaching (Foster,2003), the goal of the project to bring awareness of the cultural strengths of Hispanic/LatinX students in teaching and learning.

Faculty are invited to participate in this workshop designed to create a more inclusive curriculum by integrating culturally responsive teaching in their course work. Faculty participants should bring a sample syllabus for use in the workshop.

We are excited to announce a newly created Classroom Technology Support Services website.
