Provost Nwosu invites you to attend and noted:
"This year’s REMOTE will cover vital information to drive educational excellence and innovation by building collaborative relationships across the higher education ecosystem. Educators and academic leaders will showcase programs with measurable goals that help improve diversity and inclusiveness on all campuses. I look forward to your participation."
This is the 2nd annual REMOTE, a virtual conference for faculty and academic leaders on best practices for teaching virtually. The summit is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and is free to all participants.
Last year, the event was attended by 26,000 faculty and administrators from over 1,000 institutions
The agenda for this year’s summit is focused on three questions:
1. How can individual faculty members evolve their courses for 2021/22 and beyond in a way that incorporates the best of what we have learned in the last year? How can they move their courses into a hybrid mode and take advantage of both remote and on campus opportunities, of synchronous and asynchronous learning modes, and harness how technology can be used to personalize instruction?
2. How can individual faculty members and institutions plan for the arrival of the least prepared cohort of first year students ever (or possibly since WW2) in a way which will ensure they focus on student success? This is a structural problem that will be most acute in 2021 but will repeat for the next several years.
3. What are the changes that institutions of higher education need to make to thrive (or even to survive) in this new world? Most face real design challenges and need to think holistically about their operating models. This will range across many issues.

The Lehman platform for the Library’s chat reference and e-mail services has changed. Working in conjunction with several CUNY libraries, the new version will provide enhanced services, user experience improvements, and better follow up features while still providing the same 24-7 chat coverage enjoyed in the past. The new software provides the option of creating a public knowledge base, which the Library will use to better share information about its services and events with the campus community. For more information, please contact Head of Reference Vanessa Arce Senati.
