Boise Joins Leesburg Center for the Arts Board

Dustin Boise, professor of studio arts and coordinator of Beacon College’s Co-Operative Education (COE) faculty and curriculum, has been appointed to the board of directors at the Leesburg Center for the Arts. His new role strengthens the college’s connection to the local arts community and reflects his ongoing commitment to fostering creative opportunities for students and residents alike.

Beacon College Experts Address Hidden Costs for Students Who Learn Differently


Beacon College’s Rose DeJarnett, dean of academic affairs, and Stephanie Liebowitz, director of enrollment services and financial aid, led a National College Attainment Network webinar in May on the hidden costs students with learning differences face in college and strategies to improve affordability.


Michael Deeb was recently recognized with the 2024 Volunteer of the Year award by Christian Tech Center Ministries during the nonprofit’s third anniversary gala. Since the Longwood, Florida, ministry’s founding in 2022, Deeb has been a dedicated volunteer, contributing his time and talents to support its mission of providing free tech services to those in need. In appreciation of his service, executive director Andre Klass presented Deeb with a certificate and a special gift — a four-pack of park-to-park tickets generously donated by Universal Orlando Resort.

Beacon Staff Join Lake Cares to Fight Summer Food Insecurity

Seven Beacon College staff members volunteered July 25 at Lake Cares Food Pantry in Mount Dora, distributing two pallets of food to families experiencing food insecurity. The effort, led by the Center for Career Preparation, was part two of a summer partnership that began in May with Beacon CareerTreks students packing meal boxes at Lake Cares’ new headquarters. In all, two pallets of food were distributed to food-insecure families with children.  

Beacon grad competed in South American basketball tourney

Jared Carter, Beacon’s top scorer and recent graduate, joined the NSAC team in Brazil for the prestigious Copa Sul-Americana tourney.
