Dear Democrats,

There are just 25 days left in this election, and Democrats are voting! Thanks to your hard work, we are continuing to build our lead on the Republicans in Vote-by-Mail registrations and returns. You can find more information about these numbers below.

What a week this has been! It was wonderful to host Joe and Jill Biden for multiple events in South Florida on Monday and to watch Kamala Harris shine on the debate stage on Wednesday.

Yet, hundreds of thousands of Floridians remain unemployed, small businesses are struggling to stay open, and people are facing eviction — and the President is refusing to work with Democrats to pass a deal that would help every American. Donald Trump and Republicans care about one thing, pushing their Supreme Court Nominee through and ripping health care away from millions of Americans.

We will be reminding voters of the real Republican agenda, and why we must elect Joe Biden and our entire Democratic Sunshine Slate, every day until November 3! Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication throughout every part of the state.

It's full speed ahead for the next 25 days!
Forward,
Terrie Rizzo
Chair
Florida Democratic Party

Vote by Mail
Our Vote by Mail (VBM) enrollment margin continues to grow! As of Friday, 2,545,584 Florida Democrats (46.5%) are enrolled in VBM compared to 1,763,007 Republicans, expanding our historic VBM enrollment lead to 782,577! And 707,505 Democrats have returned their ballots while only 396,495 Republicans have returned ballots! Of the FL Democrats who already voted, 60,470 of them did not vote in 2016 or 2018.

By comparison, 28 days out from the election in 2016, 113,811 voters had voted and Republican returns were ahead of Democrats by about 3,000.

Keep up the great work and continue to enroll our supporters to VBM, educate these new enrollees on how to successfully VBM, and work to turn out every allied voter.

Important VBM dates:
  • October 19 - completed ballots not mailed back by this date should be dropped off at SOE sites
  • October 24, 5 p.m. - deadline to request ballot be mailed to voter
  • November 3, 7 p.m. - SOE must receive completed ballots from stateside voters
  • November 5, 5 p.m. - deadline to cure ballots
  • November 13 - SOE must receive completed ballots from overseas voters
Voter Education
Nearly one million of Florida Democrats enrolled to Vote by Mail are new or infrequent voters, and we need your help getting voter education information to them! From now until Election Day, we will be pushing out voter education messages for you to share.

Please continue to share these videos on your social media channels about how to properly return mail ballots.
Additionally, IWillVote.com has been updated with Florida mail ballot drop box and Early Voting locations. This is a great site to share to help voters make their plan to vote.

Compliance Corner
We continue to receive questions about limits on political contributions and expenditures by clubs and caucuses, so we are providing another reminder on state and federal rules.

Clubs and caucuses not registered as political committees are limited to a maximum of an aggregate $500 in a calendar year for the following state and local political activities:
  • Accepting contributions for the purpose of making contributions to any state or local candidate, political committee, affiliated party committee, or political party (including FDP and DECs).
  • Accepting contributions for the purpose of expressly advocating the election or defeat of a state or local candidate or the passage or defeat of an issue (including FL Constitutional Amendment initiatives).
  • Making expenditures that expressly advocate the election or defeat of a state or local candidate or the passage or defeat of an issue.
  • Making contributions to a common fund, other than a joint checking account between spouses, from which contributions are made to any state or local candidate, political committee, affiliated party committee, or political party (including FDP and DECs).
Clubs and caucuses wishing to accept contributions or make expenditures in excess of an aggregate $500 per calendar year for the purpose of influencing the results of a state or local election need to register as a political committee at the municipal, county, or state level.

Clubs and caucuses are limited to raising or spending a maximum aggregate $1,000 in a calendar year for federal campaign activity. Exceeding this threshold requires registering as a federal political committee.

There is no limit on amounts clubs and caucuses can raise and spend for generic election activity including voter education and GOTV.

For more information or questions, you can attend financial compliance office hours with our COO Anne Morgan on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. ET by calling (305) 697-4202, PIN 86381#, or email Anne directly at amorgan@floridadems.org.
