Today, we look at the one year anniversary of the *NEW* Florida Democratic Party.
On February 25, 2023, I was elected your Chair, and I promised you all that we would never have another November 2022 again.
On Tuesday, we announced the details for Leadership Blue 2024, which will be held from Friday May 3 through Sunday May 4, 2024, at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Orlando, FL.
We will be hosting our annual Leadership Blue Gala on Saturday, May 4 (may the 4th be with you) and you can find more details on how to purchase a ticket or serve as a sponsor for the event here.
Additionally, we continued our Black History Month tour with stops in Central Florida. We spent time in Orange, Seminole, and Brevard – meeting with faith and community leaders, and reminding folks everywhere we go that Black History should be celebrated every day.
Our team also placed digital ads in Black owned outlets across Florida like Legacy Miami, Legacy South Florida, Hylo News, the Florida Courier, The Westside Gazette, The Jacksonville Free Press, and The Gospel Truth.
This is a part of our commitment not only to supporting Black owned businesses but doing everything we can to reach folks where they are.

Democratic National Convention - Delegate Filing
We are excited to share that filing is now open to run for District-Level Delegate positions to the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
146 District-Level Delegates will represent Florida at the DNC Convention in Chicago, IL from August 19-22. File online to begin your campaign to join Florida's delegation! See our National Convention site at floridadems.org/2024-national-convention for more information.
Filing for District Level Delegate ends on March 25th at 12pm EST.

Cyber Security & Email Safe Practices
We have seen an uptick in phishing attempts using FDP staff and officer names. Be sure to avoid sharing sensitive information online and use the tips below to keep your data safe.
Emails often host scams (phishing) and malicious software. To avoid virus infection or data theft, you should:
- Avoid opening attachments and clicking on links when the content is not adequately explained.
- Be suspicious of clickbait titles (e.g. offering prizes, advice.)
- Check emails and names of people they received a message from to ensure they are legitimate.
- Look for inconsistencies or give-aways (e.g. grammar mistakes, capital letters, an excessive number of exclamation marks.)

In order to maintain compliance with Florida Statutes and FDP Bylaws, your DEC needs to submit documents to both your county Supervisor of Elections (SOE) office and the Florida Democratic Party.
Please review all of the below information for next year's compliance process. You can also see a breakdown of requirements and due dates here:
If your DEC failed to submit the compliance requirements below you must have them submitted to the Office of Party Affairs ASAP or risk being found out of compliance.
January 31, 2024: Completed Party Leader Template with DEC information, Party officer details, office and mailing addresses, website, and social media links.
January 31, 2024: A complete and updated DEC membership list (names, addresses, and DEC/Precinct positions are required).
January 31, 2024: Your county must complete a Diversity and Inclusion plan for your DEC.
February 28, 2024: Current DEC bylaws showing the date they were approved or amended.

The National Democratic Training Committee is excited to partner with the Florida Democratic Party to provide FREE training to Democratic candidates, campaign staff, and local leaders.
As the largest Democratic campaign training organization in the nation, we have trained more Democrats on how to win elections and build long-term power than any other organization.

We are rolling out our 2024 VR Toolkit with information on our strategy and organizing framework. This toolkit will provide you with the tools, information, guidance you will need to execute your voter registration programs. This is a document that will be under revision throughout the cycle as we add more guidance and resources for the benefit of our counties. FDP Reach Trainer Group: This group is open to anyone interested in becoming a member of our FDP Reach Trainer Group in the DEC who will be in charge of leading training in their county. - The latest voter file update went live in VAN on February 20th. VAN is now current with the voter file through 1/31/23.

As we progress into the 2024 cycle, the FDP data team is working to consolidate and update all of our guidance documents, resources, and tool onboarding processes into 1 data hub. You can view the start of the Data Hub here.

The FDP is excited to announce our texting platform for the 2024 cycle: Movement Labs! In partnership with our statewide partners, we plan to begin rolling out our new texting portal this Wednesday, 2/28.
