Democrats,

Today, my thoughts are with the people of Israel as they face this unprovoked and unprecedented attack. Israel has the right to defend itself and the attack on innocent lives is unacceptable.

I want to thank President Biden for his swift action to support our ally in the region. I will be keeping everyone involved in my prayers. Please click on the link below to see ways you can support Israel.

As our team returns from last week's ASDC and DNC meetings, we are finalizing programing for the Take Back Florida State Convention. We look forward to seeing you later this month in Orlando and continuing our work to take back our state.
Forward,
Nikki Fried
Chair
Florida Democratic Party

Book a Virtual Meeting with FDP's Voter Registration Director
We want to hear from your DEC, Club, or Caucus. Kris, FDP's Voter Registration Director, is in the process of speaking with all DEC's, Clubs, and Caucus leadership to get their feedback on what a voter registration program should look like. We want to take into account all of the great work counties are doing as well as areas of need by county. We are developing a 67-county strategy. Help us in the next 4 weeks to do that by scheduling a meeting with our VR Director.
Voter Registration Legal Guidance & FAQ's

We have received many questions around our voter registration program, the use of Reach, and the legal issues surrounding voter registration and VBM. We have created this document that will continue to be updated as needed.
DECK

DECK, a tool that some DECs and organizations were using for targeting in coordination with VAN, will no longer exist. The targeting that was available in DECK has been pushed to our VAN statewide as targets. You can find the following target groups directly in Create a List in VAN:

  • DECK Persuasion Targets - A static list of targets that DECK considers persuadable voters within the state of FL
  • DECK Fundraising Targets - A static list of targets that DECK considers likely to donate within the state of FL
  • DECK Turnout Targets - A static list of targets that DECK considers high propensity voters likely to vote D in the state of FL

Any remaining DECs that want unregistered targets or likely volunteer targets from DECK and have not yet pulled them can submit a data ticket for a copy of these exports here. They are statewide lists, so you will have to filter them to your specific area. As a reminder, the unregistered export cannot be uploaded to MyVoters in VAN because these are not registered voters. Many DECs are bulk uploading these to MyCampaign so they have a space to work with the unregistered targets.

The FDP still urges folks to only use this targeting data as a last resort and recommends that you coordinate with FDP's Voter Registration Director to put together a field plan and targeting that mirrors your campaign or organization’s goals using the DNC scores, vote history, and other important fields within VAN.

Click here to schedule some time with Kris as we work toward creating a truly coordinated campaign infrastructure and strategic field operations needed to #TakeBackFL in the 2024 cycle.

Campaign Resume Bank

Our Campaign Committee has been hard at work making it easier for potential candidates in 2024 to win. They have developed the resume bank below for candidates to find great talent to help with campaigns. Candidates will be able to "shop" through potential campaign staff, interns, and volunteers using filter features by availability, location, language proficiencies, skills, etc. The ultimate goal is to have hundreds of resumes for our candidates to look through and find the best fit for their needs! Please complete the form below add your name to the list.

If you are an elected official or candidate and would like for us to advertise positions or want to utilize our resume bank, please reach out to our Deputy Executive Director Abi Yisrael at [email protected].
Chair's Challenge
Competing and winning demand resources, and I am proud to announce the launch of our Chair's Challenge. You can join the chair's monthly challenge by becoming a recurring donor to FDP. Help us reach our end of month goal with just $5 a month!

Movement Building - Youth Leadership Training

Timing to prepare youth organizations in Florida before the next election cycle is critical to create the infrastructures needed to take opportunities for profound change. Youth can and must play a vital part in bringing about this change in public opinion, civic engagement efforts, and in public policy.

These trainings will build on the activities and experiences of Hope Community Center and its partners' leadership development program, which has sought to cultivate new leaders.
