Democrats,

Thank you all for making National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) a success. We had a great showing, but we must keep registering new voters and signing them up for vote by mail. Voter Registration and Vote-by-Mail are an essential component of our plan to Take Back Florida. Let's keep the momentum going and staying active in all of our counties!

Another essential component of our efforts to reclaim Florida is our Take Back Florida State Convention, planned for October 27 through October 29 in Orlando. During the State Convention, we will launch our organizing initiatives and provide training for party leaders in preparation for the 2024 elections. Having everyone in one location receiving consistent training will ensure that we are well-prepared for the 2024 election. I am asking that you encourage your DEC, Club, and caucus members to attend this event. When we are all together and learning from one another we leave in a stronger position ready to take back our state.

Be sure to complete delegate registration for State Convention as soon as possible. With your help and attendance, I am confident that this State Convention will be our best one yet!
Forward,
Nikki Fried
Chair
Florida Democratic Party

Voter Registration
Thank you to all of our partners who participated in National Voter Registration Day! We had more than 60 events throughout the state, and trained over 500 activists on our new voter registration tool Reach. Stayed tuned for additional training opportunities! If you need assitance using Reach, or your organization would like to schedule time to meet with Voter Registration Program Director Kris Estanga, use the link below to sign up for office hours.
Our VR Director is aiming to speak with all the DEC chairs and boards about what field work is taking place in our counties. She wants to take into account the great work that is already happening and ensure she accounts for that, different counties’ needs and opportunities into the overall plan. The FDP Voter Registration program will be fully unveiled at State Convention!
DECK

DECK, a tool that some DECs and organizations were using for targeting in coordination with VAN, will no longer exist. The targeting that was available in DECK has been pushed to our VAN statewide as targets. You can find the following target groups directly in Create a List in VAN:

  • DECK Persuasion Targets - A static list of targets that DECK considers persuadable voters within the state of FL
  • DECK Fundraising Targets - A static list of targets that DECK considers likely to donate within the state of FL
  • DECK Turnout Targets - A static list of targets that DECK considers high propensity voters likely to vote D in the state of FL

Any remaining DECs that want unregistered targets or likely volunteer targets from DECK and have not yet pulled them can submit a data ticket for a copy of these exports here. They are statewide lists, so you will have to filter them to your specific area. As a reminder, the unregistered export cannot be uploaded to MyVoters in VAN because these are not registered voters. Many DECs are bulk uploading these to MyCampaign so they have a space to work with the unregistered targets.

The FDP still urges folks to only use this targeting data as a last resort and recommends putting together a field plan and targeting that mirrors your campaign or organization’s goals using the DNC scores, vote history, and other important fields within VAN.

Campaign Resume Bank

Our Campaign Committee has been hard at work making it easier for potential candidates in 2024 to win. They have developed the resume bank below for candidates to find great talent to help with campaigns. Candidates will be able to "shop" through potential campaign staff, interns, and volunteers using filter features by availability, location, language proficiencies, skills, etc. The ultimate goal is to have hundreds of resumes for our candidates to look through and find the best fit for their needs! Please complete the form below add your name to the list.
