Canon Michael Durning will visit with us this Sunday, April 15, and will preach at all three services. To refresh your memory, brief biographical notes on Canon Durning are below. I look forward, as I know you all do, to welcoming him to St. John's!
The Rev. Canon Michael P. Durning began service to the Diocese in 1997 and was made Canon to the Ordinary in 2000. He began ordained ministry in 1988 as assistant at St. John's, Naples. In 1992 he accepted the call as rector at St. Mark's, Marco Island. At the time, St. Mark's was listed by The Living Church as one of top parishes for growth in the Episcopal Church.
Canon Durning grew up in Pennsylvania. He has an M.Div. from General Theological Seminary, New York (1987), and a BFA from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia (1973).
Canon Durning and his wife Bonnie Jean will be married 45 years in November.
They have three sons, and three grandsons. Fr. Michael enjoys art, photography, Scottish country dancing and music.
Yours in Christ,
