For you and yours at Thanksgiving . . .
The Season of Advent begins this Sunday, November 28

Beginning the Church's liturgical year, Advent is the season leading up to the celebration of Christmas. The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lord’s birth on Christmas. Advent devotions remind us of the meaning of the season.

Pope: 'Light of Christmas shines all the brighter amid darkness of pandemic'
By Francesca Merlo, Vatican News
Pope Francis on Monday met with participants of the upcoming Christmas Contest. The event, organized by the Pontifical Foundation Gravissimum Educationis and Missioni Don Bosco Valdocco, "gives a voice to young people by inviting them to create new songs inspired by Christmas and its values.

On this note, the Pope extended a "special welcome" to all the young people "who have enthusiastically taken up the challenge".
