Happy New Year, Delaware!

Legislative Session to Begin on Tuesday, January 9th

On Tuesday, January 9th, the Delaware General Assembly will begin the legislative session for 2024. Governor Carney is committed to working with elected officials on both sides of the aisle to deliver on the issues that matter most to Delawareans.

Chamber proceedings in the State Senate and State House of Representatives are livestreamed on the General Assembly website.

Legislative session runs from January 9th to June 30th. View the legislative calendar here. 

Delaware Division of Small Business to Host EDGE Grant Webinars

The Delaware Division of Small Business will host webinars on January 22nd and January 23rd to help prospective EDGE Grant applicants learn more about the selection process.

EDGE grants give qualified Delaware small businesses access to grant funding to help grow and sustain their business. Applications will be accepted from February 1st to March 1st, 2024. 

Delaware Forest Service and Delaware Libraries Introduce Smokey Bear Reading Challenge

The United States Forest Service and state libraries across the country are teaming up to celebrate Smokey Bear's 80th birthday.

The Smokey Bear Reading Challenge invites Delaware children ages 4 through 10 to connect with reading and the outdoors. All 33 Delaware libraries will receive a package of forestry-themed books to explore the topics of wildfire prevention, forests, and natural resources.

Recycle your Holiday Tree at TreeCycle

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) and the Delaware Center for Horticulture are helping families recycle their live trees by hosting TreeCycle - a free, community event.
