ADD SOME COLOR TO YOUR WORLD
|
Winter has gone and the temperatures are steadily warming up. Shrubs and perennials are starting to flower, but their flowers typically do not last for the whole season. The best way to get bright, seasonal
color into your landscape is by putting in some annual flowers.
These plantings can include tropical foliage plants that can give a beautiful range of size, texture and color to a display without flowers as well as the traditional flowering plants such as petunias, lantana, geraniums, and lobelia. Adding color to foundation planting beds can increase the curb appeal of your home, and make it much more welcoming to visitors and family alike.
Container gardens can be a great way to get color into shaded areas and also to brighten up a patio or pool deck. Containers could be, among other things, window boxes, urns, or whiskey barrels.

FENCE INSTALLATION OPTIONS

"Good Fences Make Good Neighbors"
This line is from the poem "Mending Wall" by New England native and Poet Laureate, Robert Frost. In the poem, Mr. Frost is questioning the wisdom of this proverb espoused by his neighbor. If you agree with the neighbor and would like to have a new fence installed on your property, our Design/Build Division is more than capable of installing this for you! Our designers can meet with you and help you pick the best type of fence to meet your specific needs.
Fences can serve many different roles in the landscape. They can be protective, such as just around a pool to safeguard small children, or around the whole yard to help contain children and/or pets. These can be wrought iron (or aluminum made to look like it), stockade or chain link among others. They can also be ornamental such as a split rail around the property. The amount of maintenance a fence needs can be varied based on the materials such as wood, aluminum and vinyl.

OTHER SERVICES TO CONSIDER

May is the month of the caterpillar. Winter moth and gypsy moth caterpillars are all now actively feeding on trees in the area. If you are finding little black pellets of droppings on your car, deck or kids' play sets, you have caterpillars. Give us a call and we can give you a quote to treat for these pests.
