Bricks, mortar – and heart

Have you driven past our Paul D. Cordes Outpatient Pavilion on Bootlegger Road recently?

If so, you’ve undoubtedly been impressed by all the site preparation being done on the land next door. On Nov. 2, St. Tammany Health System leadership gathered there to break ground on the organization’s next major expansion: a $75 million Ambulatory Surgery Center to serve our Northshore friends and neighbors.

When it’s all complete around summer 2024, it will be a stunning, state-of-the-art structure containing 12 same-day surgical suites, plus room for all the attendant support services.

Architecturally, it will be a jewel of the Northshore. Functionally, it will serve as a bricks-and-mortar testament to the brand of compassionate care St. Tammany Health System has been delivering since its founding as St. Tammany Parish Hospital in 1954.

If you haven’t already, visit the electronic newsroom at StTammany.health to get a look at the artists’ renderings and read more about the project.

Thanks for reading – and for being part of our St. Tammany Health System family.

She knew before she became a physician.

She knew even before she enrolled in medical school.

One way or the other, she knew her professional life would revolve around children, in much the same way her personal life had since she herself was a kid.
