Greetings SkyHawks!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

  • The Homecoming Dance was awesome! I think it was one of the very best events that we’ve had here at Summit. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves in spite of the rain. Great job to ASB and Mr. Cerda for hosting such a great event that over 1300 students attended!

  • Today and Friday we have a guest speaker from Schools First Credit Union doing Financial Literacy presentations for our Seniors.

  • On Wednesday we will have a motivational speaker come and speak with our Juniors and Seniors. This same presenter spoke with our Freshmen and Sophomores earlier in the year and received outstanding reviews!

  • We still have Wellness Wednesdays each Wednesday. Every Wednesday we have our Wellness Walk at 7:15 AM. Please meet at the tower outside of Administration. We will also have two “Coloring and Creativity” sessions during both lunches. Students, please join us during your lunch in The Nest (upstairs Admin).

  • Thank you to all of the students who submitted entries for Native American/Indigenous Peoples Heritage Month. This is especially close to home as the District Office will be featuring one of teachers, Dr. Sabina Glover Oxendine, who is a member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina.

As always, we are here to support you. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Keep soaring SkyHawks!

College and Financial Aid Applications

Attention Seniors! The application window for CSU, UC, and FAFSA/CA Dream Act is now open.

As a reminder, keep track of all the deadlines (UC/CSU schools, Private Colleges, scholarships, FAFSA/CA Dream Act), read the instructions, give sufficient time to recommenders to write your letter of recommendation, and provide all the requested information.

Your counselor is available by appointment to assist you with your college and/or financial aid application.

Flight Training

Seniors, have you started working on your college applications? Are you stuck or unsure about specific areas of your college application? Flight Training is an opportunity for you to work with your counselor and receive assistance with your college applications.

Flight Training will be held October 24th- 28th.

Please check the Counselor’s TEAMS channel and your FUSD email for more information regarding Flight Training.

Chaffey Dual Enrollment

If you are interested in earning college credit as a high school student, you can do so by enrolling in Chaffey College’s Dual Enrollment program. This is open to all 9th-12th grade students. The classes you take at Chaffey College meet the A-G requirements for UC and CSU schools.

Enrollment for the Spring 2023 semester will begin on October 24th, 2022. For more information, please visit Chaffey’s Dual Enrollment website or stop by the counseling office.

FSA ID

Seniors, if you haven’t already done so create your FSA ID. The FSA ID (account username and password) allows students and parents to identify themselves electronically to access Federal Student Aid websites. It is also used to quickly sign your FAFSA application and have it processed. If you have questions, please visit studentaid.gov or visit the “Financial Aid” Teams Channel.
