As you’re well aware, practically every type of organization is having to cope with the rapidly changing landscape caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Every day large group gatherings such as sporting events, weddings, conferences, and yes, promotional products trade shows are being cancelled. But the Gold Coast Promotional Products Association (GCPPA) has some great news.
PromoCon 2020 is a go, just at a later date!
In 2019 GCPPA our rebranded client trade show was met with rave reviews, and we just couldn’t deprive our members of that benefit. So, we have postponed the show until October 6th, 2020. The event will be hosted at Hugh’s Culinary, with some notable changes from our 2019 GCPPA Fall Showcase and Tech Summit.
The 2020 GCPPA Board of Directors and staff are committed to the safety of exhibitors and attendees alike. This year PromoCon will be renting additional space and nearly doubling the square footage of exhibit space. We will also be strictly limiting the number of exhibitors to ensure there’s adequate space for social distancing. GCPPA will also be monitoring and implementing CDC event suggestions and safety guidelines.
Yes, we know we’re living in “uncertain times,” so we haven’t forgotten about our exhibitors’ recovering budgets either. This year we will also be offering “no-risk registration” for exhibitors. They will be able to register now without the worry of payment until September 6, 2020. Exhibitors will also be given the opportunity for flexible extended payment plans until the end of 2020.
We just can’t wait until October to see everyone, so thankfully we don’t have to! GCPPA is currently in the process of adding several small group events as restaurants and breweries reopen in our region. Be sure to check out our Event Calendar for events like GCPPA On Tap. Our industry is full of great minds that use their entrepreneurial knowledge to find creative solutions to almost any obstacle - just look at how quickly we’ve added PPE products in the past few weeks. We’re already starting see some encouraging signs that our industry will rebound quicker than many and GCPPA stands ready to help in a variety of ways.
