From the Principal...

Dear St. Norbert School Families,

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as students and faculty shifted to virtual instruction for this last week of school before the Christmas vacation. Thank you for your cooperation in picking up your children’s books yesterday afternoon. Many thanks to all the teachers and staff who packed up the students’ books and supplies. This effort was very much appreciated.

We continually evaluate the policies and procedures of the State, and County as well as the Archdiocese and our own school adopted policies. As we reviewed the decision made this past weekend to go all virtual this week, our school nurses discussed the situation with the Certified School Nurse from the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District who provides weekly support to SNS. She was in full agreement that moving to virtual instruction this week was done in compliance with the stated guidelines from the Pennsylvania Health Department.

The cleaning and sanitization of the school building commenced today and, based on current guidance from the parish, it is a 3-day process. We are thankful to the school’s maintenance team which has been very diligent in its approach since the building opened this fall.

The SNS Town Hall meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening has been rescheduled to Tuesday, January 5th at 7:00 PM. We believe this will allow for a more informative discussion of any updated guidelines and requirements as the school community prepares to return for in-person instruction on Monday, January 11th. We have received a couple of questions this week that will be addressed at January’s town hall meeting. Any additional questions or comments can be forwarded to Mrs. Hennessy at mkhennessy@stnorbert.org.  A zoom invitation for the town hall meeting will be sent closer to January 5th.

As you evaluate your plans for the holidays, please take note of the PA State Guidelines for Travel. Given the changing nature of these guidelines, we ask that any family traveling over the Christmas vacation to please reach out to the school nurses to discuss the options for their student's safe return to school. Communications and questions can be directed to Mrs. Esposito and Mrs. Nunn at nurse@stnorbert.org.

We wish peace and joy to each of you and your families this Christmas.

Blessings to your families,
Mrs. Mary Kay Hennessy, Principal
