Dear Siblings in Christ,
As we enter this season of deepening light and reflection, I invite you to ponder the words of this beloved prayer:
“Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.”
In the rhythm of our lives, where demands and uncertainties seem ever-present, we are given this beautiful invitation to pause, to “hear, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest” the words of Scripture. These sacred words are more than stories from the past; they are guides, lights, and promises that shape our journey with God today. They remind us that, even in times of struggle or joy, we are held in the everlasting hope of Christ’s love—a love that surpasses all understanding and sustains us in our moments of deepest need.
May we draw closer to this hope, allowing the Scriptures to dwell in our hearts, transforming us and renewing our spirits. Let us embrace the teachings of Christ not only with our minds but with every fiber of our being, holding fast to the promise of life eternal.
As we continue in our shared ministry, may this prayer encourage us all to root ourselves in the holy words given to us, to lean on one another, and to build each other up as a community bound by hope and love. Let us hold fast to these gifts, knowing that we journey not alone but together in faith, in love, and in Christ.
With every blessing and gratitude,
The Rev. Timothy M. Kingsley
