Dear Trinity Parishioner,
I promised to check in with you all by email this week, and here it is already Friday! I hope and pray you are well.
This has been another week of settling into new norms for Trinity. We are continuing online gatherings and working to improve the Sunday worship experience while also asking, "what next?" That is, what will it be like in the near term when it becomes possible again to gather, and what will it be like come fall?
Guidance from the Bishop's office should come within the next couple of weeks, and then we'll begin to fill in those pictures. In the meantime, it's important to remember that God is already doing new things, as surely as spring happens despite whatever winter has thrown at us. The Resurrection is sure. It is a God-given reality that breaks through all.
Jesus teaches us to "consider the lilies." We can also say, consider the cherry blossoms, lilacs, peonies and azaleas . . . all that is blossoming around us. For those who see, they are a sign of what God is bringing about.
God bless and keep you, God shine upon you and give you peace as you contemplate God's goodness blossoming in, through, and around us. And if you have a moment, give a glance at what has blossomed through two of Trinity's faithful, below!
Yours in Christ, with love,
The Rev. Dr. Edward E. Thompson, rector
