Dear Fellow Parishioners:

We write today with an update regarding our period of transition as we plan for Oran’s final year of ministry at St. Paul’s.

Last night, the Vestry met with The Rev. Will Dickinson, Transition Minister for the Diocese of Virginia, to discuss best practices for transition planning. We learned about various models currently in use by other parishes undergoing leadership transition and explored possibilities specific to St. Paul’s. Within the next several weeks, you can expect an email update outlining St. Paul’s transition timeline.

In the meantime, we are pleased to announce the formation of a Celebration Committee to be chaired by Anne Ayres and Lisa Eskew. The committee will oversee plans for a series of events to honor Oran’s 27-year tenure and express our gratitude to Oran and Barbara. We pledge to keep you informed as the planning process for the celebration unfolds.
