Agricultural Conservation Technical Training – Basic Level Held

Twenty-four individuals attended the Agricultural Conservation Technical “Boot Camp” Training – Basic Level April 13-16, 2026, at the Union County Government Center in Lewisburg, PA. Attendees included staff from conservation districts, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and its affiliates, Penn State Extension, the PA Department of Environmental Protection, county farmland preservation offices, and nonprofit organizations.

 

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, State Conservation Commission, Penn State Extension, and PACD coordinate the event.

Webinar: Customer Service that Builds Trust

The National Conservation District Employees Association is hosting a professional development webinar on building trust. The webinar will take place on April 22, 2026, at Noon.

Sponsor Request: State Grasslands Competition

Southwest Project Grass is requesting that conservation districts across the state ask their boards to donate $100 to the state grasslands competition. The event is held annually at Rock Springs.

 

The competition has attendees from all across the state and gives out thousands of dollars in scholarships every year.

Young Ambassadors of Pennsylvania Wanted for the 2026-2027 School Year

Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful, with funding from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), is seeking civic and environmental leaders in 10th-12th grade to help keep Pennsylvania clean and beautiful through the Young Ambassadors of Pennsylvania program. 

 

The Young Ambassadors program empowers young community stewards and civic leaders to become ambassadors for a shared vision of a clean and beautiful Pennsylvania. Ambassadors will have the opportunity to train and network with industry leaders, state agencies, local media, and the Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful network, and will receive a taste of life in the public service sector.

 

Applicants should be passionate about the environment and committed to protecting Pennsylvania’s natural beauty and environmental health through volunteerism and leadership.

 

Applications are being accepted through June 10. Students will be chosen through a competitive application process. Students interested in applying should visit keeppabeautiful.org or contact Kylie McCutcheon at 724-836-4121 x114 or kmccutcheon@keeppabeautiful.org
