FRYEBURG FAIR 2022 - OCTOBER 2-9

PRESIDENT
DAVE HASTINGS
Dear Friends & Fairgoers -
Take a look at this great new podium built for Fryeburg Fair by one of our vendors - the Maine State Prison Showroom! It's a beauty. We used this for the first time at our recent Airstream Club International Rally held at the fairgrounds in late July. Airstream had over 900 RV's and almost 1,700 participants & guests for their week-long event. It was an honor to be the host facility for this very successful conference. Fryeburg Fair received rave reviews from Airstream.
A few announcements for this year. We will not have poultry at the Fair due to the current conditions involving Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), also known as the bird flu virus. The Poultry Barn and the Duck Herding Demonstrations will not take place and Old McDonald's Farm will not have poultry. HPAI affects poultry and birds of all kinds. It is not a danger to humans and should not raise alarm about poultry-to-human transmission. To learn more about the bird flu virus in Maine, visit maine.gov/dacf/hpai.
Also our 4H Horse Show usually held on the first Sunday will not take place this year due to the limited availability of 4H'ers.

Hello Friends - we've had a productive year preparing for Fryeburg Fair 2022.
While we won't have poultry & birds at Fryeburg Fair 2022 because of the bird flu virus, we will have our Annual Chicken Coop Raffle. It's a beauty again this year. Be sure to buy tickets and support this effort to fund Poultry Education at Fryeburg Fair.

TRAFFIC TIPS FROM PUBLIC SAFETY
|
|
(Photo of Ray LaFrance, Public Safety Superintendent, with Assts. Dan Ellis & Richard Murray)
Our roads to and from Fryeburg are rural. In order to avoid traffic jams and delays, try these tips!
GET IN EARLY - The weather makes a huge difference in traffic. Big days at the Fair are Opening Sunday, Woodsmen’s Field Day Monday, Senior Citizen’s Tuesday and all of Friday, Saturday & Closing Sunday.
COME IN FROM THE NORTH - Arrive at Fryeburg Fair from Lovell, Maine. Coming from the Bridgton, ME area use alternate routes of Route 93 or Knight’s Hill Road driving into Lovell and follow Route 5 South to the Fair’s Lovell Gate.
Coming from the south on Route 16 try re-routing to Route 113 & follow East Conway Road and then stay on Route 113 and come into Maine. Three miles from the NH border, take a right onto Corn Shop Road, follow to the end, take a right, you’re on Route 5. Head South for two miles to the Fair’s Lovell Gate.
ONE MORE TIME! Arrive early, stay late, and you will avoid the biggest traffic issues. Don’t leave the Fair when everyone else does. To depart the fairgrounds, take routes north & south depending on your exit gate to avoid getting stuck in front of the Fair. Help us keep traffic moving by heading away from the Fair. Thank you Fryeburg Fairgoers!
