We're just a few days away from Georgetown's internal deadline for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program: September 1 at 12 PM NOON (not midnight) ET.
Lock your application in the portal by this time to participate in the campus committee review and mentorship process. All recommendations and required evaluations/application components are due by September 1.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Center for Research & Fellowships will be closed for Labor Day Weekend and will not reopen until Tuesday, September 2. Advisors will not be available over the weekend to answer questions or confirm that your locked application was received. If you experience technical issues with Fulbright's online application, contact fbstudentsupport@iie.org.

LOCKING YOUR DRAFT APPLICATION BY SEPTEMBER 1

By Georgetown's September 1 deadline (12 PM NOON ET), remember:

Lock – do not submit – your completed draft application in the "Ready for Campus Review" section (pictured above) of the Fulbright application portal. DO NOT USE THE "REVIEW & SUBMIT" FEATURE FOR THE INTERNAL DEADLINE.

Also:

  • Check in with your recommenders/evaluators today to ensure their letters/forms are in by September 1.
  • Be sure your transcripts meet Fulbright's requirements and that you avoid Georgetown's orange Parchment transcript.
  • Follow Fulbright's requirements for short answer and statement of grant purpose formatting.
  • Ensure your abstract thoughtfully summarizes your statement of grant purpose, while demonstrating your enthusiasm for engagement opportunities in the host country.
  • Prepare for your Fulbright mentor meeting.
  • Review frequently asked questions about applying.

Note: A few days after the internal deadline, your application will be unlocked by the Center for Research & Fellowships, meaning you can continue working on it prior to Fulbright's national deadline in October.
