July 1 is National Nonprofit Leader Day. Let's Celebrate


Fulcrum has decreed July 1 as National Nonprofit Leader Day and we look forward to celebrating you and would love to have you recognize the contributions of another nonprofit leader that you admire and respect.


For Fulcrum's part, we are planning to recognize each Charter Member individually via a post on LinkedIn July 1. We hope you'll repost this and send it along to others.


To recognize another nonprofit leader, we've created a social media guide and image that you can access via the link below to assist you.


National Nonprofit Leader Day


As a reminder, we believe nonprofit leaders deserve to be recognized and celebrated. Why July 1st? While any day is a good day to show appreciation for nonprofit leaders, July 1 has special significance.


First, many nonprofits will have just completed a very long and challenging fiscal year the day before (June 30). This deserves special recognition, especially given the sacrifices so many leaders likely made throughout the year and down the home stretch.


Second, many nonprofits start a new fiscal year on July 1, launching into another year of meeting lofty goals and high expectations while accelerating mission delivery and community impact. 


With your help, I'm confident that we can make July 1 this year and in future years something important in the nonprofit world.

Why Am I Receiving DocuSign's From Fulcrum?


Many of you might be asking, "Why is Fulcrum sending me a DocuSign? The answer is simple. We are sending you the Charter Member Award Plan - the document that describes the equity award plan - for those that will choose to elect to receive that benefit instead of lifetime free membership.


We need everyone to review that document prior to receiving the next DocuSign which is the Charter Member Agreement. This document will require your review and signature.


More than a few of you are probably saying, "Why didn't I receive this DocuSign email?" The answer is simple. You most likely have not completed the registration and application process, which is required and a precursor to taking the next steps with Fulcrum.

Next Charter Member Virtual "Mixer" - Fri, July 12 at 10AM PT


Please join our next Fulcrum Charter Member "mixer" next Friday, July 12 at 10AM PT.


This will be a 30-minute virtual gathering to hear remarks from Fulcrum Founder and CEO Chris Looney, introduce many Charter Members to each other, and explore key topics connected to nonprofit leadership.


Importantly, we'll make sure there is more time to spend with and meet each other in the breakout rooms. I know it was too short last time.


We'll also create a special learning opportunity for those that participate so please mark your calendar and plan to attend if you are available.

Nonprofit leaders ‘light up’ and come alive when engaged with their programs. Being mission-minded individuals, this is no surprise. More surprising is the fact that it is rare for the program side of the business to be the source of ongoing distress.


Commonly, the program side is where the nonprofit leader finds the life-giving and edifying power to confront the more frequent and complex challenges involving fundraising and revenue generation, staff retention and recruitment, Board engagement, budgeting, and more.

Charter Member Essential Next Steps

There are just a few administrative items that require your attention. The good news is that they do not require a lot of your time. Here are the five essential steps.


  1. Register and Apply. Visit www.fulcrumleader.com/register to complete this first important step. Don't spend too much time. Just get through the process quickly so you are officially in the system
  2. Create Your Personal Profile Page. This is very similar to setting up your Instagram or Facebook page with a few pictures and a few details.
  3. Follow Fulcrum on LinkedIn. Takes very little time and helps us to expand our reach. Thanks for helping us reach more people with the Fulcrum message.
  4. Review and Initial the Charter Member Award Plan Document. This comes to you from DocuSign. It should take 10 minutes to review and initial.
  5. Review and Sign the Charter Member Agreement Document. This is the last step for most to formalize their membership in Fulcrum. It should take 10 minutes to review and sign.
