Understanding & Managing Speech Disorders in Children

This one-day workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss these disorders in the context of etiology, diagnostic criteria, and treatment. The impact of these disorders on children and their families will be examined, along with the theoretical and clinical competencies necessary for clinicians working with children who have the aforementioned disorders. Additionally, case histories of children with the above disorders will be presented in order to illustrate various therapeutic approaches.

Cognitive Behavior Therapy and other Modalities with Children and Adolescents

Attend this workshop to be stimulated to think more critically about utilizing various modalities (including play therapy, CBT and mindfulness) with children and adolescents. You will receive an overview of the modalities, as well as the impact of the mind/body connection on the therapeutic work. Participants will take part in hands-on activities to learn techniques appropriate for rapport building, assessment, and meeting a variety of therapeutic goals.
