Dear,
Thank you for your patience as we finalized restitution plans for your cancelled race. Twin Cities In Motion is pleased to announce that you will receive a refund equal to your registration payment as compensation for your cancelled race on October 1. Through utilizing event cost savings, insurance coverage, and Board-approved cash reserves, we are able to stretch resources and offer a full refund to all affected runners.
We understand the race cancellation on October 1 was a difficult and emotional experience. While a registration refund does not replace the experience of a great, safe race and does not necessarily cover all the expenses you incurred for Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend, we are glad to be able to refund your race registration.
Please note how the refund process will work:
- Refunds will be processed via Race Roster, our registration partner, to the credit or debit card account used in registration.
- The refund will reflect the amount you paid for race registration and will not include transaction fees you paid.
- We expect Race Roster to begin issuing refunds next week, in a process that may take up to six weeks to complete for all 20,000 runners affected.
- You will receive an email receipt from Race Roster once your refund has been processed.
In addition to your refund, we are pleased to share that marathoners and 10 milers will receive exclusive guaranteed access to your event in 2024 at prices equal to 2023. We're eager for you to experience the “Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America” or “The Shortcut to the Capitol” as you originally intended. Expect more information next week.
Our priority throughout this process was to do the best possible for you, while remaining an active, vital, and solvent member of the Twin Cities nonprofit community. We’re committed to continuing our efforts to engage people through movement and stewarding the community’s marathon weekend tradition.
Please know that everyone at TCM values you as a runner and appreciates the patience you have shown us since October 1. Please expect a follow-up email from Twin Cities In Motion when refund processing begins.
Let’s keep running together.
Sincerely,
Twin Cities In Motion
