Clear Water Press

Who knew writing could be so much fun?

Engaging for students. Easy for parents. Fosters a love of writing.

At Clear Water Press, we’re all about story-centered learning.

Each of our programs is designed as a creative project students can complete in one school year. (Or set your own pace!)

Cover Story leads students, step-by-step, through the process of creating content for their own magazine. They write short stories, nonfiction articles, poems, and many other short pieces.

One Year Adventure Novel guides students through the process of writing their own novel. Both eager writers and reluctant writers can have their skills transformed! Includes access to several support resources.

Byline puts students in the role of a 1930s-era newspaper reporter as they dig up stories from the past. The program guides them into compelling journalistic writing. In the process, students are equipped to write great academic essays!

Light Up Literature Curriculum

Fun and Easy Ways to Learn . . . That Actually Work

Does your middle schooler:

  • rush through reading?
  • guess instead of thinking?
  • freeze when asked, “Why?”

That’s not a motivation problem.

It’s a structure problem.

The Light Up Literature™ Mystery Series turns reading into a case your child wants to solve.

Instead of worksheets, they:

  • investigate clues
  • track facts and evidence
  • compare possibilities
  • prove their thinking

Students tackle mysteries like:

Now they have a reason to slow down—and a way to explain their answers with confidence.

✔ Short, one-day Lite Mysteries

✔ Deeper investigations with writing support

✔ Built for ADHD, reluctant, and overwhelmed learners

This is the shift:

from guessing → to thinking → to explaining

Give your child a reason to read—and a way to succeed.
