Ronda Loyer began making felt "paintings" a few years ago,
and like many of us most of her work was trial and discovery.
The sheep measures about 10" x 12" and is on handmade felt background,
core wool, and natural locks.

"I am a candle/soap maker. I was looking for new ideas for my soap when I came across your website on felting. I
never really new what felting was. I was floored at the things you can make with wool. I really had no idea!
I thought to myself ...where has this art been hiding? Well I saw the felted soaps on your site and thought how great
it would be to have a felted soap. From the moment I tried the felting process I was hooked. ...

I started just wet felting bars of soap but then decided to get your needle felting kit and try and make pictures
on the soap after watching a video on using cookie cutters as a guide. I found some of the cutest mini cutters and started needle felting.
I have so much fun with this craft and cant get enough of it. It reminds me of when I used to paint pictures on sweat shirts years ago.
I regret that I have not taken pictures of all my soaps. Many are truly one of a kind. I hope one day to make sculptures
or even my own felted slippers!
"
