New Mentorship Program

Home Helpers will soon launch our new mentorship program. Any new caregiver employed by Home Helpers Home Care will be assigned a mentor to help orientate and familiarize them with the policies, procedures, and expectations. Our caregivers will be able to rely on their mentor to answer any questions, provide support to them, and be a liaison to the administration team.

The purpose is to make our caregivers comfortable in their environment and to be able to communicate any concerns that they may have to their mentor, so they do not feel isolated while out in the field. If you are not new to Home Helpers, or recently joined, and would like to be assigned to a mentor, please contact the scheduler and we would be happy to assign one. We want all our caregivers to feel supported.

Amanda Pettiford

Amanda has been working in the medical field for almost 9 years as a home health aid and CNA. When she was in high school, she started working at Home Helpers Home Care, and she has been employed here for the past 8 years!

Amanda is passionate about supporting our clients and our caregivers and finds her work very rewarding. Her integrity, dependability, loyalty and commitment has earned her the respect and admiration from her peers and clients. It is these leadership qualities that she has demonstrated over the years that will make her role as a mentor an asset to our Home Helpers community.

Helida Monteiro

Helida began her employment with Home Helpers Home Care in August, 2021. She is a graduate of Laboure Nursing School. She enjoys helping others and believes that kindness goes a long way.

Helida has stated that she highly respects and appreciates the people she works with, and yet, it is the staff and the clients that she serves, that helped nominate her for a caregiver award this past year. Helida came in 6th place nation-wide, (across the United States and Canada), receiving "The Extraordinary Caregiver of the Year" award. This is quite a prestigious award, as candidates were chosen out of the entire Home Helpers Franchise System!

ABOUT APPLYING MAKEUP?

LEARN FROM A PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP ARTIST!

Wednesday, August 23, 2023

4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Learn from your colleague, Gloria Obabela Mbokanga, (pictured above) who recently joined our Home Helpers family team of exceptional caregivers. Gloria's passion for learning makeup artistry grew out of curiosity. As a 15-year-old growing up in Paris, France, she would watch in wonder and awe at people going into a beauty center and coming out looking so beautiful. A makeup artist saw her standing outside and invited her in. She was given a manikin head to practice on and this is how she first learned about makeup application and style. Come join us for a night of fun and learn from an expert!

Be prepared to go home looking drop dead gorgeous!

RSVP BY Friday August 18th

Please bring your own makeup, mirror and brushes. Gloria will teach you about products, skin care, and application. You are welcome to come even if you have never used makeup before and want to learn.

If you have a daughter, daughter in law, or friend who is interested in coming, please bring her so she can join in the FUN! Please just let the scheduler know.

We want to share your story so that we can all learn about your experiences, and we can grow, appreciate, and be united in our mutual goals of respect, kindness, and making the world a better place to live.
