Vicarious Trauma: Supporting and Healing Organizations that Care for Child, Youth, and Families
Description: Vicarious trauma (VT) is experienced in a variety of professions across disciplines. The greater the exposure to traumatic situations and events, the greater the risk of vicarious trauma. People who work in services to which people with traumatic histories present seeking help, or who work with traumatic material are at particular risk. This four-session series will focus on the foundations of vicarious trauma, the importance of self-care, how to develop into a vicariously trauma-informed organization, and how organizations can continue to support staff that are exposed to traumatic situations.
Target Audience: Child welfare and other allied professionals.
