Giving your time, talent, and treasure
Consider Serving on Vestry
In the Episcopal Church, the Vestry is the lay leadership body that guides and empowers the ministries of the parish. It has many responsibilities, the greatest of which is praying for the congregation and discerning, with the congregation’s input, the path God offers for Christ Church. Each year, four new persons are elected to serve 3-year terms.

The Vestry encourages anyone who feels called to the ministry of the vestry, and who is a pledging confirmed communicant in good standing, to consider nominating themselves to stand for election. The term of service is three years, beginning January 2021. Simply email Rev. Shirley to state your desire to serve, and she will put you in touch with a vestry member who will give you further information about the commitment. All nominations must be received by Dec. 20, 2020.
Refrigerator Needed
Is Santa bringing you a new fridge this year? Or perhaps you have one in your garage that you seldom use? We are looking for a hand-me-down! The CCE staff fridge in the church-house kitchen needs replacing. ) To allow fit, the maximum possible dimensions are 72” high x 36” wide by (approx.) 32” deep.  If you can help, please contact David Ellis, facilities manager.
Thank you for serving at Shalom Farms
A note from Hannah Wittwer, Volunteer and Education Manager at Shalom Farms:
"Christ Church participated in harvesting onions, beans, tomatoes, potatoes, and collards and also did lots of weeding, pruning, cleaning and raking. Amazing! Communities needed affordable, healthy food more than ever this year, and thanks to dedicated, hard working folks like you guys, we actually wound up exceeding our production goals for the season. Pretty remarkable considering how much the pandemic affected our farm operations and limited our labor force. We are so appreciative."
