Beer Labels to Watch for...
It's no secret that I love really good beer. I make my own, hang out with homebrewers, and go out of my way to find interesting and unusual beers. So I was thrilled to be asked to submit the artwork for two labels which Dog Beverage Company in Westminster (AKA Pub Dog) is releasing this spring/summer.
The first is a collaborative effort between Pub Dog and Baying Hound Aleworks. (A "co-lab;" get it?)
For this beer, they will be using my Yin Yang Labs painting. In fact, they will be using this design for 5 more IPAs in their co-lab series this year! (IPA=India Pale Ale)
And the second one will be a regular brew of DOG called "Old Dog, New Trick" a gluten free beer! Tell your gluten-free friends to look for it soon. For this label, the art is done, but the label design is not yet complete. How do you like it? Do you recognize my dog model? (Yes, it is Hooper.)
What else is happening with Dog Beverage Company? They are definitely a brewery to remember. Checkout their Facebook page. Pub Dog Brewing on facebook
Our New Family Member: Gypsy
I still miss my canine BFF of 13 years, Hooper, but John and I couldn't say "no" to adopting this sweet former stray from North Carolina on Mother's Day. She is a very loving and snugly mostly-lab angel. Hope you can meet her some day.
Stop by on Dec. 7-8 which happens to be the Studio Open House.
Sharing My Art with
a Few Very Worthwhile Nonprofits
I do enjoy making my living as an artist, but every now and then, I do like to match my artistic skills with the needs of a worthwhile organization that can't afford to hire an artist to come up with solutions to their artistic needs. No matter how busy we are, it seems there is always time to share a bit of ourselves with others. Here are three projects I completed in the past two months.
1. Designed the logo for Carroll County Food Sunday's First Annual Milk Run which will help bring nutritious food (and milk!) to local families. This event was coordinated by volunteer, Frank Baylor. Thanks, Frank!
2. I painted the logo of Human Services Programs of Carroll County, Inc. onto the wall by the administrative offices. It is the focal point as you walk down a long corridor towards it.
and 3. I designed this new logo for a new organization forming in Carroll County. Wouldn't you like to support businesses in our community that hold to environmentally sound ethics? I do. Click here to check out their evolving web site
Again, I sure appreciate your support of my work. Glad you found the time to make it all the way through.
Have a great month. I hope to see you at Art in the Park.
PS Feel free to forward this newsletter to anyone who might enjoy it. Thanks.
