Steele Canyon High School 2nd Annual Taste of the Town Fundraiser - 5:30pm  

Steele Canyon High School (SCHS) is hosting a fundraising event called Taste of the Town to be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at the Sycuan Golf & Tennis Resort from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. We will be featuring local restaurants, wineries and breweries that will provide samples of their cuisines and beverages. In addition, there will be entertainment, silent auctions and raffle prizes. All proceeds will support our athletic, AVID and scholarship programs. We are confident that a great time will be had by all. Advanced purchase tickets are $45 for one or $80 for two and $50 at the door.

Help Your Community in the Event of An Emergency! CERT (Community Emergency Response Training) in Descanso - 6:30pm 

If a disastrous event overwhelms or delays the community's professional response, CERT members can assist others by applying the basic response and organizational skills that they learned during training.  These skills can help save and sustain lives following a disaster until professional help arrives. The CERT training will be held in Descanso at the Town Hall.  The classes themselves are free, starting on March 8th 2013 at 6:30pm

Alpine Unified School District Presents the Play "Guys and Dolls"  - March 8, 9 at 7pm. Students from all schools in grades 5 through 8 are involved in this year's production of Guys and Dolls. This year's show will be held at the auditorium at Alpine Elementary School on March 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16. The show on the 14th will be the Dinner Show beginning at 6:30 PM. All other curtain times will be 7:00 PM.  Tickets may be purchased at the door or by emailing request to pgarza@alpineschools.net. Tickets range from $20 for front row, rows B/C @$15, rows D,E,F @$10 and open non-reserved seats @$5. Dinner Theater is $25 per person and tables are for four.

Members can bring guests at a discounted "Member-for-day" rate, $15 for adults (Normally $25), $10 for children 12 and under (Normally $15). During your visit, we will take you around to meet our animals - we have 55 animals - 17 species in all; all with a different story to tell! We'll also introduce you to our sanctuary and explain why we created this beautiful home for our lions, tigers, bears and much, much more!

 

Basic membership is only $50 and includes unlimited, scheduled visits for 12 months after purchase and many other perks - a great deal for Alpine residents!

 

If you decide to become a member the same day as your visit, we will credit that charge to the cost of membership. In addition, you have the opportunity to "Feed a Big Cat" of your choice. This adventure gets you a little closer to the Cat of your choice and you get to feed them! $75 for one person, $125 for two. Daylight Savings Time 2013 begins at 2:00 AM on SUNDAY March 10th. Remember to set your clock 1 hour ahead Saturday night before you go to bed. It's also a good time to check and replace the batteries for your Smoke and Carbon Monoxide detectors!

Fire Department Boot Drive - March 12, 2013
March 12, 2013, the annual Firefighter Boot Drive to benefit the San Diego Burn Institute will take place all over San Diego County. Alpine Firefighters will be at various intersections in Alpine during the morning and evening commute collecting money that helps to send burn-injured children to winter and summer camp.
