Animal Encounters!


Celebrate the longest day of the year at Heritage Park! Take a hayride, enjoy roasting marshmallow around a campfire, and find out what makes this day so special with games and outdoor activities. A great way to celebrate the first day of summer with family and friends!

Join the Farmington Area Optimists Club as they host the annual Kid's Fishing Day!

Wellness Walk & Talk

A FREE health inspired program with Beaumont Health. Health care professionals provide a brief indoor presentation, then answer questions before going enjoying a 30 walk through Heritage Park. Sessions include healthy snacks and free blood pressure screenings. No need to register, just show on up!

After the sun goes down, Heritage Park comes alive! Join us on a night hike to listen for nocturnal animals, observe the night sky and heighten your senses along the way! Leave the flashlights at home, as we will be using our natural night vision!

Enjoy summer at the Nature Center with a scavenger hunt and nature exploration! Activities are FREE and last 30-45 minutes. All ages are welcome, adult supervision is required. No need to register, just show on up (space is limited to first 25 participants).

Enhance your child's interests in science, nature and STEM with this 6-week program! Each week will focus on a topic including animals, gardening, outdoor skills and more! Every child will receive their own Nature Pack full of real Naturalist equipment and an O.W.L.S. Certificate! Sponsored by Farmington Area Optimists Club.

Geocaching 101

Bring technology and nature together with this international high-tech treasure hunting game! Involve the whole family in the beginner course to explore GPS technology and practice navigation by seeking hidden objects during an exciting outdoor scavenger hunt!
