Supporting Innovative Drug Discovery Research in Alzheimer's Disease
The goal of the 2024 Awards Program in Alzheimer’s Disease Drug Discovery Research is to support innovative drug discovery research that will lead to improved therapies for individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
Researchers dedicated to the validation and testing of target compounds and therapeutic agents including biologics and small molecules, are encouraged to apply.
Consideration will be given to research focused on pathogenic mechanisms including inflammatory response, synaptic toxicity, neuronal toxicity, and endosomal/lysosomal trafficking defects.
Eligibility
- Hold a faculty appointment at a non-profit, academic, medical, or research institution in the United States.
- Applicants may not have funding support for a similar project.
- Applicants do not need to be nominated by their institutions.
- United States citizenship is not required; visa documentation is not required.

Scholarly Editions & Scholarly Translations |

The Scholarly Editions and Scholarly Translations program provides grants to organizations to support collaborative teams who are editing, annotating, and translating foundational humanities texts that are vital to scholarship but are currently inaccessible or only available in inadequate editions or translations. Typically, the texts are significant literary, philosophical, and historical materials, but works in other humanities fields may also be the subject of an edition.
The program supports continuous full-time or part-time activities during the period of performance of one to three years. At least two scholars must work collaboratively on the project. Typical project expenses include salary for editorial and research activities, travel to collections to verify source material, and consultant fees for translation, editorial work, and the implementation of a digital edition.
In addition to supporting editorial projects at an implementation stage, the program also encourages applications for up to two-year projects at a planning stage that are determining the scope of the corpus, collecting documents, establishing the editorial and translation policies, evaluating the target audiences and determining their needs, selecting collaborators, and planning for dissemination and digital sustainability.

The National Science Foundation (NSF) Convergence Accelerator program addresses national-scale societal challenges through use-inspired convergence research. Using a convergence approach and innovation processes like human-centered design, user discovery, and team science and integration of multidisciplinary research, the Convergence Accelerator program seeks to transition basic research and discovery into practice—to solve high-impact societal challenges aligned with specific research themes (tracks).
NSF Convergence Accelerator tracks are chosen in concordance with the themes identified during the program’s ideation process that have the potential for significant national impact. The NSF Convergence Accelerator implements a two-phase program. Both phases are described in this solicitation and are covered by this single solicitation and corresponding Broad Agency Announcement. View the Broad Agency Announcement. The purpose of this parallel funding opportunity is to provide increased opportunities for proposals that are led by non‑academic entities. Proposals that are led by Institutions of Higher Education (IHEs), non-profits, independent museums, observatories, research labs, professional societies and similar organizations should respond to this solicitation. Proposals led by for‑profit or similar organizations should respond to the BAA. Phase 1 awardees receive resources to further develop their convergence research ideas and to identify important partnerships and resources to accelerate their projects. Phase 2 awardees receive significant resources leading to deliverable research prototypes and sustainability plans.
