On January 19, 2021, DoD issued an Amendment 01 for Announcement W911NF-19-S-0013. This amendment changed this opportunity to remove the limited submission portion and is now open continuously until April 30, 2024.

The CCDC ARL invites applications/proposals from covered educational institutions for research and education programs that will meet the following objectives:
  1. Enhance research and engineering capabilities in areas important to national defense;
  2. Increase the number of graduates in STEM disciplines; and
  3. Encourage research and education collaborations with other institutions of higher education and with defense organizations.
  4. Support for research, development, testing, evaluation, or educational enhancements will be through the competitive awarding of grants or cooperative agreements.
  • The funding will advance the priorities of DOE’s Office of Science and its major programs, including Advanced Scientific Computing Research, Basic Energy Sciences, Biological and Environmental Research, Fusion Energy Sciences, High Energy Physics, Nuclear Physics, Isotope R&D and Production and Accelerator R&D and Production
  • Award Size ~$5,000 - $5,000,000 in annual funding
  • Typically about 200 to 350 new awards per year
  • Funding will be competitively awarded based on peer review
  • The FOA remains open throughout the Fiscal Year
