The Governor’s Office of Workforce Innovation (GOWINN) is launching the inaugural NPWR Research Grants that has available $100,000 to support research studying Nevada’s most challenging policy problems in the areas of workforce development, economic diversification, and education. The goal for this grant is for it to be awarded to up to 10 collaborative research projects between January and June 30, 2023, with the hope of continued funding into the future. This research will be published and made publicly available in GOWINN’s annual NPWR Research Agenda.
Applications are accepted by Kristen Dwyer, [email protected], on a rolling basis, with the plan to announce initial funded projects by the end of February 2023.

Nevada EPSCoR HDRFS Seed Grants |
|
The NSF EPSCoR RII Track-1: Harnessing the Data Revolution for Fire Science (HDRFS) project has released a Request for Proposals for 2023-2024 Seed Grants. The overarching goal of the HDRFS project is to increase the capacity of Nevada for wildland fire research, education, and workforce development and to demonstrate this increased capacity through fire research in the regionally important sagebrush ecosystem.
HDRFS will engage faculty in areas related to, but not recognized in, the current research to provide new opportunities and pursue high-risk, high-impact research. HDRFS seed funding is not intended to provide a substitute for NSF individual investigator funding. Seed grant funding will provide strategic mechanisms for additional research, education, and workforce development (E-WFD), and sustainability in relevant areas and will provide proof of principle results needed to secure external funding. Research areas should align with the 2020 NSHE Science and Technology Plan (S&T). Research areas may include, but aren’t limited to:
- Ecology (Eco)
- Hydrology (Hydro)
- Fire Processes (FP)
- Fire Emissions and their Atmospheric Aging (FEAA)
- Cyberinfrastructure Innovations (CII)
- Education and Workforce Development (E-WFD
- Broadening Participation (BP)

ANNH Education Competitive Grants |
|
The Alaska Native-Serving and Native Hawaiian-Serving Institutions Education Competitive Grants Program (ANNH) promotes and strengthens the ability of Alaska Native-Serving Institutions and Native Hawaiian-Serving Institutions to carry out education, applied research, and related community development programs. ANNH addresses the educational needs, as determined by each institution, within a broadly defined arena of food and agricultural sciences-related disciplines. Priority will be given to those projects that enhance educational equity for underrepresented students, strengthen institutional educational capacities and prepare students for careers related to the food, agricultural, and natural resource systems of the United States. HSI Education Grants Program |
|
The Hispanic-Serving Institutions Education Grants Program promotes and strengthens the ability of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) to carry out higher education programs in the food and agricultural sciences. This is a competitive grants program that promotes the ability of HSIs to carry out higher education programs to attract, retain and graduate outstanding students capable of enhancing the nation's food, agriculture, natural resources and human sciences professional and scientific work force. This grant program aligns the efforts of HSIs to support academic development and career attainment of underrepresented groups. This grant program closes March 31. NSF STEM REU in Ohio Summer 2023 |

We invite your students to participate in The Ohio State University Research Experience for Undergraduates program, BUCKEYE REU. BUCKEYE REU will allow them to get hands-on research and professional development experience during the 10-week on-site summer research program. The opportunity is for students pursuing a STEM major, with an interest in biomechanics or mechanobiology (BMMB). This program will help them build research and professional experience that will support your pathway to graduate school!
