NASA EPSCoR ISS Flight Opportunity |
|
The National NASA EPSCoR Program has announced a solicitation for projects seeking an “International Space Station (ISS) Flight Opportunity” program. This solicitation is for projects that are mature enough to transition to a flight experiment with little or no additional NASA funding during the 3-year period of performance of the award. Proposals shall describe scientific and/or technical research in areas that support NASA’s strategic research and technology development priorities. Proposals shall also emphasize how a flight in microgravity will influence or improve the results or quality of any ground-based research. The proposed research should contribute to the overall research infrastructure, science and technology capabilities, higher education, and economic development of Nevada.

USDA Higher Education MSP |

The purpose of the Higher Education Multicultural Scholars Program (MSP), Assistance Listing 10.220, is to provide scholarships to support recruiting, engaging, retaining, mentoring, and training committed multicultural scholars, resulting in either baccalaureate degrees within the food and agricultural science disciplines or Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) degrees. The goals and objectives of the scholarships are to encourage outstanding students from groups that are historically underrepresented and underserved to pursue and complete baccalaureate degrees in food and agricultural sciences, or achieve a D.V.M., that would lead to a diverse and highly skilled work force. This may include the teaching and preservation of traditional ecological knowledge.

NIJ Research & Evaluation on Firearm Violence |

With this solicitation, NIJ seeks applications for funding of research and program evaluation projects specific to the intervention and prevention of intentional, interpersonal firearm violence and mass shootings in the United States. This solicitation has two categories: 1) research on mass shootings, including insider threat and leakage and the role of the news media and social media platforms; and 2) research on the effectiveness of campaigns implemented in school systems and/or through school personnel to encourage the parents, guardians, and relatives of school-aged children to store firearms safely and securely.

NIJ FY24 Evaluation on Desistance |
|
With this solicitation, NIJ seeks proposals for rigorous evaluations of desistance-focused interventions to advance understanding of strategies that might aid in the desistance process and identify innovative approaches to measure the desistance process.
NIJ will give special consideration to proposals with methods that include meaningful engagement with the people closest to the subject of study, including practitioners as well as community members representing crime victims, people under criminal justice supervision, and members of high-crime communities. Applicants are encouraged to propose multidisciplinary research teams to build on the complementary strengths of different methods and areas of subject matter expertise. NIJ also seeks proposals that include consideration and measurement of issues of diversity, discrimination, and bias across age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation, as applicable.
