NIH Education Activities for Responsible Analyses of Complex, Large-Scale Data 9R25-Clinical Trial Not Allowed), RFA-DA-24-027. CFDA # 93.279. Limited to $300,000 direct costs per year. Maximum project period is 3 years. Application Deadline: 02/08/2024.

The NIH Research Education Program (R25) supports research educational activities that complement other formal training programs in the mission areas of the NIH Institutes and Centers. 

The overarching goal of this R25 program is to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nation’s biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs.

To accomplish the stated over-arching goal, this FOA will support creative educational activities with a primary focus on methodological rigor in the analysis of large complex datasets involving brain, behavior, genomic, and socioenvironmental data. This could involve:

  • Courses for Skills Development: For example, advanced statistics and research design courses in a specific discipline or research area, rigor and robustness in research practice, or ethical conduct of biomedical research.
  • Curriculum or Methods Development: For example, to improve biomedical, behavioral or clinical science education, or develop novel instructional approaches or computer-based educational tools that support methodological rigor in analysis of large complex datasets.   

NV Governor's OSIT Workforce Talent Pipeline

OSIT, through STEM Workforce Talent Pipeline Grants, seeks to strengthen partnerships between industry, secondary education, and postsecondary education and workforce development resulting in sustainable training programs that provide in-demand, industry-recognized STEM training, skills, and credentials to students and lead to full-time jobs in STEM industries. The overarching goals of the grant program are to:

  1. Increase the number of students that earn STEM industry-recognized credentials shortly after high school graduation leading to entry-level employment in high-skill, high-wage, in-demand STEM industry sectors;
  2. Create a seamless transition from high school to postsecondary education that leads to increased STEM credential attainment among all students, but especially those students from underrepresented groups;
  3. Create sustainable and scalable models of secondary + postsecondary + industry partnerships that create talent pipelines to meet the needs of industry within the region; and
  4. Create systemic change by improving partnerships between colleges, school districts, and regional employers. 

Applicants are required to form a consortium made up of the following three entities: 1) a public high school or public school district or the equivalent, 2) a public or private postsecondary workforce development or education institution or provider, and 3) at least one employer. The consortium will work together to leverage their collective resources and those of the grant to design, develop, implement, and evaluate an innovative STEM Talent Pipeline. The consortium will designate a lead applicant to act as a fiscal agent and grant manager, but all consortium members should be active participants in the program. Successful applications will describe how the consortium partners co-designed or will co-design the project, and how they will stay engaged during project implementation.
