Scotch Whisky Action Fund


The Scotch Whisky industry is and has been involved for many years in a range of initiatives to promote responsible attitudes to alcohol and tackle alcohol-related harm. The alcohol industry plays an important role in Scottish society and Scotch Whisky is at the heart of the industry. However, the misuse of alcohol through excessive or inappropriate consumption can have implications for health and a range of social problems, including anti-social behaviour, accidents, violence, family breakdown, problems with money and work, which can impact individuals, families and communities.

They are more likely to fund projects which demonstrate an innovative use of IT, can be developed into a model for wider replication, are sustainable and focus on outcomes which can be formally reported on. The WCIT also provide pro-bono IT support. Baillie Gifford Multi-Year Awards


This fund is aimed at supporting grassroots community organisations across Scotland. Grants can be spent over a period of up to three years.

Groups can apply for funding over a maximum of three years. The maximum grant available is £15,000, i.e. £5,000 a year for three years.

The fund can support core costs as well as project costs. However, it can only support applications where the grant request is at least 25% of the total costs. Please do not apply if your project as a whole costs more than £60,000.

LEAP Sports - Festival Fortnight Small Grants


This small grants scheme allows sports groups and community groups, a small resource to put on an event as part of the LEAP Sports Festival Fortnight. The festival aims to increase the visibility and participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) people in Scottish sport. The festival takes place between 17th - 30th June and provides something for everyone, featuring a combination of sporting, cultural, academic, social, and recreational events.

This year they hope that partners can finally deliver most events in-person, but are continuing to accept applications for online events.

Partnership Drugs Initiative


PDI provides funding support to charities working to increase opportunities, wellbeing and resilience of children and young people affected by alcohol and or drugs. PDI will contribute up to a maximum of 50% towards the overall costs of delivering a project/service that will help improve outcomes for children and young people. You can apply for up to three years. PDI gives money to charities that support children and young people in Scotland. Children and young people, along with other experts, are involved in making decisions about PDI grants.

Regional Food Fund


Are you involved in a collaborative initiative that promotes and celebrates regional food and drink?

If so, you can apply for a grant from the Regional Food Fund which has re-opened for 2022 with £110,000 available. The Regional Food Fund offers grants of up to £5,000 to support projects and initiatives that promote the development of food and drink across Scotland. The funding is aligned to the Food Tourism Scotland Action Plan and is part of the Scotland Food & Drink Partnership’s Recovery Plan, supported by Scottish Government.

Dandelion: Inclusive and Inspiring Communities Fund


This partnership between BEMIS and Dandelion has been developed to support and celebrate community groups and organisations who want to start growing their own food across Scotland, and to create opportunities for diverse communities across Scotland to take part in the Dandelion Harvest Festivals in September.

Grants of up to £2,000 are available for community groups and non-profit organisations looking to get started with growing their own food, and celebrating the results with a Harvest Festival.

Highland Cross Grants


Highland Cross exists to raise money for causes that benefit the people of Highland, disadvantaged by disability, ill health or social need. The Highland Cross is a 50-mile duathlon (20 miles on foot, 30 miles on bike) traversing the spectacular Scottish Highlands coast to coast. They will fund capital assets, such as minibuses, buildings and equipment that will the benefit of people of Highland for the foreseeable future. Highland Cross has four or five major beneficiaries each year who are expected to contribute to the successful organisation of the event by contributing £1,000 towards the costs and providing 20 appropriate people to act as marshals.

Let’s Move Together


Versus Arthritis want to address and prevent the likely reduction of marginalised communities driving sport and physical activity forward, by fostering and protecting community bodies, coaches and volunteers.

By recognising the need for this funding to be opened UK wide, Versus Arthritis has made £150,000 available through The Let’s Move Together Fund which will support organisations in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.

Organisations in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland should work on creating opportunities for people with long-term health conditions to stay active in their local communities.

Caithness Educational Trust


Grant to help applicants, normally residents of Caithness, to attend a course of study or activity.

Awards may also be available to help fund projects for the educational benefit of the local community. Awards can be made towards the cost of course fees, travel or necessary equipment including books. Applications must show the educational advantages of undertaking the course of study or activity. The fund is administered by the area education manager. The local councillor will be asked to comment on and approve any award.

Community Asset Ownership


HIE can offer financial assistance with capacity building relevant to eligible groups' ongoing development plans. Start-up assistance can help with early investigation of a proposed purchase including professional fees and study visits and initial community consultation. Technical assistance is available to groups in the pre-acquisition stage and to help with bid preparation. Support is available to encourage community participation through networking visits, skills training and employment of part-time community agents.

Community Led


Through our Community Led funding we aim to support communities to improve the places in which they live and the wellbeing of those most in need.

 

We want to support community-led organisations to deliver longer term work as well as shorter term activity such as supporting communities deal with the impact of COVID-19. You can apply for funding for up to three years to improve or continue existing services, or to develop new activity. The National Lottery Community Fund is a Living Wage Friendly Funder.
