The National Indian Health Board (NIHB) is pleased to announce a funding opportunity to support Building Tribal Provider and Patient Capacity for Addressing Opioid Misuse Prevention and Treatment

This opportunity is
made possible with support from the the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.
This opportunity continues NIHB’s commitment to enhance the capacity of Tribes. The funding will provide an opportunity to increase the level of programming, research, policy development, coordination, and/or communication between Tribal programs, leadership, community, and key partners involved in addressing the health consequences of the opioid epidemic.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the capacity building project, the applicant must be an official Tribal entity or program (defined as a federally recognized Tribal government, Tribal organization, inter-Tribal consortium, or Tribal health care facilities/health systems as defined in the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, as amended).
FUNDING
Applicants are eligible to apply for up to and no more than $15,000.00 in combined direct and indirect costs.
HOW CAN FUNDS BE SPENT
?
Use the NIHB toolkit (which adapts CDC-developed opioid materials for providers and patients as the framework) to develop strategies and programs to increase the knowledge and capacity of Tribal providers and patients to improve opioid related health outcomes.
