Funding Received for
Planning Development Review Toolkit
The Town has been granted $296,558 from the Province to develop a unique and practical "Development Review Toolkit" to improve development review processes.

The Town will collaborate with Vancouver Island University and other BC municipalities to gather and document best practices and resources from a full scope of development application participants, and develop a robust toolkit of resources for development applications and review processes.

The outcomes will improve the quality of development applications, the efficiency of municipal application reviews, and communication between all participants involved in the process for Qualicum Beach. This toolkit will be scalable, adaptable, and available to all other small BC communities. Outcomes will include the development of forms, guides, processes, and recommendations.

"Our Planning department and processes are integral to life in Qualicum Beach, and the end results of this project will hopefully have a huge impact on reducing permit processing timeframes in the Town", said Mayor Brian Wiese.

The Town gratefully acknowledges the funding provided by the Province of BC, administered by the UBCM, under their Local Government Development Approvals program.

Opportunity for public input will be available as the process progresses, and more information will be available at www.qualicumbeach.com/toolkit
